I was looking into my guard army and contemplating with what I have and what there is available through Forgeworld and felt lost. I felt that it was unfair that the Elysian Drop Troops have changed so much from a GW codex army to a Forgeworld army. So now I am going to continue my army as a Cadian drop troop army. My army fluff will begin a new with the new campaign that the hobbytalk network is going to put up through mybattalion.com . It's free to all who join the website. IG vs CHAOS

First off sorry for the long delay of a post just been busy finishing my whole army at record speed before the tournament and some new additions for the next one coming soon. I went 0-1-2 at the tourney. tied game 1 against a space marine bike arm, lossed miserably game 2 vs blood angels with jet packs and threw in the towel game 3 because of a family emergency that came up; but no worries all is good. I learned ALOT at the tourney and picked up a few tricks for my boys.

I played my sisters fiancée against his chaos army at 2000 pts.this pass Tuesday. I applied alot of learned tactics and shuffled a few things around in my list. I came out with claiming three objectives out of five while he claimed zero out of the five after 5 turns. If it were to continue I would have cleaned up the rest of his army.

... Almost forgot I added more paint to my Valkyrie and Vendetta I have now. Here are some pics of them. My Valkyrie and Vendetta's color schemes were inspired by the LAAT's from Clone wars. I also added a skull insignia on the Vendetta's tail wings, inspired by the old Macross series I watched as a kid.

I will be going to my first RTT this saturday at the Adventurer's Guild of Riverside in Riverside, CA. I never played there So I've been pretty busy working on my army of 2000 points. I will putting up pics of a couple conversions of veteran sergeants, a new model to represent Snake(Marbo), and a new Valkyrie w/ missile pods. If I get a chance maybe some pics from the tournament as well.

Storyline change pt.3

Looking at being myself and applying the new rules for Elysian deop troops in the 8th Imperial Armor book; I decided to redirect my forces from a heritical force to an Inquisitorial force with a little twist. I know fight anyone that is suspected of being contaminated of the Zombie Plague. Which unknowingly spreads throgh all reaches of the galaxy. So that means; fluff wise; I can ASSAULT any forces; xenos OR Imperial; that I SUSPECT of being infected by the zombie Plague. :)

My company; after meeting the psychic being; soon discovered that the person discovered belonged to the Ordo Sepulturum. The Inquisitor soon found ways to relinquish all charges of heresy from the ecclesiarchy and were granted a pardon and apology (that's how Inquisitor authority roll:) Now Delta 5 fight as a Special Strike Forge against those infected by the Zombie plague created by the evils of the galaxy under the direct authority of the Inquisition.

I wasn't pleased with my Col. Delyon model. So I decided to have him re-enter the ranks as a Vet. Squad Sgt. with shotguns. I removed his green stuff backpack and added a cape. Not the best cape I ever done but will do for now till I get some time to fix it. Let me know what you guys think.

I was reading my codex and discovered that Storm Trooper sergeants can take bolters for FREE but have to special order the old storm trooper model to represent them. Instead I used a Scout Space Marine Sergeant Telion model and some green stuff to get the look and feel I want for my army. Here are my finished pics.

"The Zombie Plague, also called the Curse of Unbelief, is a deadly viral infection that was spawned by the forces of Chaos and led to the creation of hordes of infectious, undead zombies that threatened billions of people on many Imperial worlds near the Eye of Terror in Segmentum Obscurus. The first recorded incidence of the Zombie Plague in the 41st Millennium came in 757.M41 on the world of Hydra Minoris. A quarantine was imposed by the Imperial Navy, trapping 23 billion uninfected people alongside a rising tide of hungry and mindless undead.

BiologyThe Zombie Plague is a Chaos infection created through the use of Chaos sorcery blessed by Nurgle to warp a biological virus. The resulting physical symptoms spread rapidly before Abaddon's 13th Black Crusade and was heralded by the invasion of the Plague Fleets of the Chaos Champion Typhus. This led to the rise of numerous Plague Zombies on Imperial worlds and also resulted in the formation of a new branch within the Imperial Inquisition known as the Ordo Sepulturum which was specifically tasked with dealing with the Zombie Plague and similar Chaos-infused biological threats to humanity. The plague was a necrotic organism that physically degenerated those it infected, causing their skin and internal organs to rapidly rot until the moment of "death" at which time the Chaos energy within the virus reanimated the victim's corpse as a "zombie" whose only remaining drive was to feed on living flesh and so spread the infection.The Chaos energy in the Zombie Plague virus allows a small portion of the victim's life essence to be retained by their body even after physical death has occurred.

There have been numerous noted similarities between the Zombie Plague's ability to use the power of the Warp to reanimate a victim's corpse and the operation of the Golden Throne, which uses the power of the Warp to keep the Emperor's body from completely dying. Increased study of the plague by Thorian Inquisitors has led them to believe that its study can help them understand the Emperor of Mankind's current state and how he might yet be reborn. However, every attempt at creating a stable "faith virus" that would allow wounded servants of the Imperium to live on as "good undead" like the Emperor or even allow the Emperor to be reborn in an undead form has led to mutation in the sample. Ogryn conversion

I made this figure a while back not knowing how to apply them in my army. I first thought I can use it as a servitor for my Inquisition but now after reding an article I found from 40kimperialguard and looking at these incursion models and this battle suit; I now can use this conversion from a Tau XV15 stealth suit and Imperial guard head as an Ogryn. I can say they are battle suits *acquired* from a mercenary job against a tau unit, tinkered with and *bingo* power suits ala iron man.

I began working on more conversions for my army with another scout space marine I picked up awhile back and brewing up some ogryn conversion ideas to match my commando themed army. Some pics of my Col. Delyon model know a veteran sgt model, my new storm trooper sergeant model/conversion pics, and old repainted company commander model made famous during my necron battle at my local GW store in 2004. hopefully you guys can comment on what you think about them.

PDFS and storyline change pt.2

PDF'S
As you all may know by now that GW has released to the public free PDFS of Witch Hunter and Daemon Hunter codex's if you sign up to their site. In the PDFS you will notice that they have removed allies from the PDFS for Daemon Hunters. You CAN take allies in a Witch Hunters army but not the other way. All in mind if you use the PDFS as your Codex. GW has released that gamers with the old codex's can still take allies for both armies.

Storyline
I'm changing my story as a Rogue Imperial Guard army because of the lack of mercenary stories in 40k universe.The books I recently read of Imperial Guard from the black library, tells of units getting betrayed by either Sisters of Battle, the Imperial Ecclesiarchy, or the Imperial Government. My Story line goes like this:

Delta Co. was sent to fight another drawn out battle with the ORKs on the planet of Mousillon and were again overwelmed by the orks strength. The Imperial Guard company tactically withdrew further into the planet to prevent from being overwelmed by the enemy. During their movement, Delta company intercepted a vox cast message from the local ecclesiarchy condemning them to be tainted by xenos and are to be eliminated with extreme prejudice; including all allies. Delta company commander and commissar interupted the message to report otherwise and were both personally declared Excommunicate Traitoris AND Heretics of the Imperium. Delta soon gathered what they could and fled into uncharted plains of Mousillon that were deemed heavily contested Ork territory.
The company soon came across unhospitable lands wth no trace of life. Colonel DeLyon and his company soon came across a psychic being standing on a small black mound beckoning the colonel to go towards her. As Col. DeLyon approached her and began to hear her voice, without her having to speak, promising him safe haven for him and his company if they work for her. Promising the company gear, riches,wealth and safety an agreement was made between the two; without revelation of were who she was or were she came from.
Stories told amongst the company says that the psychic fights amongst them, that she is a beautiful sight to see; others reveal that the she fights as if possessed by chaos and only fights to fullfill her desire of war and revenge upon man. What is known of the psychic Inquisitor is little and that she reveals herself only to the Colonel and his sergeants, away from all curious eyes.

Were are did the mercenaries go?

I played my friend against his orks and began to wonder about their background story. I went on to lexicanum 40k and began reading about orks and came across reading that some ork blood axes work as mercenaries like the kroot to other alien races even though it's un-orky. I started to look for rules and found none and remembered that kroot had rules for an all kroot army in the old chapter approved books but are know obsolete. I began to think if there were any human mercenaries like in the Star Wars universe made famous by Han Solo and Boba Fett and couln"t find any. I usually find that humans are either for the imperium or against it and not in between; mind you not I am talking about mercenaries and not pirates like Dark Eldar. I also just finished reading the novel Flesh and Iron by Henry Zou :BOOK SPOILER ALERT: and was intrigued that the main character began working for a chaos space marine somewhat as a mercenary and was respected as such but did not turn over to chaos as do many people believe when one is affiliated with chaos. So I decide to turn my army to a mercenary army because I tend to fight alot of Imperial armies very loyal to the emporor such as Imperial Fists, Grey Knights and Space Wolves.

To represent this in my army I am going to limit myself on vehicle selections especially heavy support as the Elysian drop troops do because of the lack of Imperial support mercenaries recieve and fast manuevering they have to do to avoid being captured and destroyed from EVERYONE in the galaxy they are working against or created bad blood with. I am also going to include models from diferrent xeno races such as Orks and Tau to show that my mercenary group refill their ranks to replace losses that occur on different missions and encounters. I will began repainting some of my figures to represent this change. If you ask why not Nids and necrons, well I seen conversions were Nids can be controled with remote controls in their heads and Necrons we can say were reprogrammed. This idea is just for regular home games. I don't think this is turney legal because usually you must use only your army models unless they are converted to resemble your army some way.

Let me know what you guys think of this because I like to read more on mercenaries in 40k other than Tau allies.

I was getting disatisfied with my Inquisitor model that I used for my Colonel. So I went through my warhammer 40k models and bits and came across an old Space Marine Scout w/ shotgun pewter model. I remembered an in the 2003 Games Workshop Annual showcasing scouts space marines converted to Elysian drop troops and began my conversion. I also was searching the web looking for conversions ideas on my guardsman to look more like elysian drop troops other than the Byzantine Empire conversion idea. I decided to use green stuff to convert their helmets to look similar to the forge world models without having to buy them for their high price. I will soon have pics of my finished conversions. For now here is a picture of a similar model of the scout I was talking about.

Battle Report; Storyline change pt.1

You will now notice a big change in my blog. Don't worry you are still at the old Elysian 5th site but with a new look and story.

I've played my buddy a couple of times with my army and can't seem to take advantage of my assault so I changed my storyline to benefit more from my codex then I did before. So my storyline goes like this;

My old army (the Elysian 5th) has been decimated by an ork assault on government dignitaries and their families on the local planet of Blue Star. The regimental Commander Francisco Castillo was relieved of his duties and was sent to Terra for formal reprimand by high command. The remnants of the regiment(company sized) were sent to the planet of Saint Praxedes in the Ultima Segmenta. The Governess of the Planet placed the remnants under their fifth elite air regiment to take advantage of their air assault prowess.

My army is now fieded into battle as D Company, 5th S.C.A.R. (Special Commando Air Regiment). The company is now under the watchful eye of a Commissar Maria Rojo to observe any signs of xenos taint. The command is placed under one of the old surviving regiment lieutenants; now promoted to Colonel by the governess, Alexander "The Lion" Lyon. Under his command is one platoon; led by a lieutenant promoted from sergeant, Antonio "El Tigre" Crux. The company consists of surviving Elysians and Catachans.They fight with equipment they kept from losing to the orks and what they acquired on Saint Praxedes. D Company, 5th SCAR now fights for Honor and Redemption.

I decided to build my own saint for my sister allies. I bought the saint available by GW and got rid of the cape and cupids that come with it and added wings available through various Warhammer figures. I also surfed the net for a net but came across and old saint that was in the 2nd edition of sisters of battle. Saint Praxedes has an awesome story that flows with the idea of my guard when I first started with them; thats "to kill some bugs"(Starship Troopers). Better pics will be coming up soon.

Here's a pic using my phone of my Vendetta. The paint was applied free handed. I chose the nose art after the A-10 because the A-10 is a bad ass troop support vehicle which reminded me of the Vendetta. Note I did not use the canopy guard to give the Vendetta a more modern/futuristic look.

Just got my new house and now moving in but also studying in San Diego so it's hard to work on my army at a better rate. I am working on some conversions and paint jobs. I just finished repainting my Vendetta similar to an A-10 pic I found online and a living saint for my Sisters of Battle allies to my regiment.Hopefully I can get some pics up of them but they might not be great.

Sorry for the long delay but been busy moving around from one work place to another and having no internet and from student housing to renting an apartment. I'm trying to get a new home and currently doing the paperwork to finish the transaction. I notice an easy conversion that I REALLY want to do from Byzantum Empire.

It's a great Elysian Drop Troop conversion using the Cadian plastice models and using green stuff. I've been thinking about lately. I would use my own shotgun conversion on the models though. I wish I had some time to hobby. Hopefully this idea will be my next conversion.

I'm also planning to play a friend of mine with a 2,000 pt army list. I will be posting that also. Hopefully I can do a battle report on it also.

During the time I was creating my Daemon Hunter Inquisition, I decided to make a greater daemon in any case I fight another Daemon Hunter. I put together an Old One Eye model, a Balrog model and a ringwraith on fellbeast model. At first the idea was good to make a flying monster. It was a disaster. I would post picks but I dismantled the beast and created their respected models and sold them off. That is when I learned that not all conversions are good conversions.

Pit Variant Armoured Sentinel

Looking at the new Black Reach starter box for Warhammer 40k, I noticed the cool Ork Deffkoptas and was happy that orks had cool models but I'm not an ork player. Being a I.G. player I looked at different ways to modify this model to take it into my army and came up with this model. I'm going to use this model as an armored sentinel with plasma cannon. To convert the Deffkopta I filed down all the ork symbols and craziness that make orks, added chimera tread guards to make it look as if armor was added, added an armored sentinel pilot that I didn't use and some green stuff to paste and make the plasma cannon. I hope you guys like the Sentinel. Let me know of any questions you might have. *named after Pit; the main character in Kid Icarus*

I love the new model of Col. 'Iron Hand' Straken from G.W. but I didn't want to guy and buy from the store because of lack of funds. So I decided to do what most do. Convert. The biggest obstacle is his shot gun. So I did this conversion. I will use parts from the Catachan Sprue to do the rest. To be Continued...

Marbo conversion

I decided to create a favorite amongst guard players, Sly/Guardsman Marbo. I know how everyone likes Rambo as their favorite infiltrator but I prefer another. Being a big fan of Metal Gear I made my Guardsman Marbo to resemble Solid Snake.

I converted my Marbo using the Catachan sprue and a carapace jacket and bottom half of a guardsman from the cadian sprue. I filed down the blouse part of the bottom half to look like regular pants and I also filed off the eagle on the chest of the carapace armor. I then added the pistol, head, and knife arms from the catachan sprue. I added some green stuff on the the head to make his hair longer and similar to snakes hair in Metal Gear Solid when he infiltrated Shadow Moses. *If your wondering about the demo charge its in his back pouch. Let me know what you guys think. I dry brushed the entire model with codex grey then the armor and hands black. His skin is painted with dwarf flesh.

This is my Inquisitor Monica Santos with retinue. She is converted from a Kislev Ranger model from Mordheim offered by GW. I just added the Daemonhammer from the Inquisitor Lord Torquemada Coteaz model onto here,filed down some things and added some green stuff. She is inspired from the Grey Knights novel character Briseis Ligeia by Ben Counter.

Here is my Grey Knight Hero Aramus Eleazar. He is converted from a Grey Knight Terminator and the head of a Bretonnian Lord. I carefully cut off the original head of the knight trying not to ruin the armor piece behind the head and just placed the bretonnian head in.

Finished green stuff modeling a squad of vets with shotguns. here are a couple of before and after pics. I think they didn't come out so bad reminds me of the shotguns in Starship Troopers. I didn't do a good job on the green stuff a better model will be posted up soon.

I love the new Veterans squads for the Imperial guard. Yes they were around in the Catachan Codex but they were an elite choice. Now thy are a TROOP choice :). The lasgun is the most underrated conversion bit people think of. In the old Imperial Codex it was said that they lasgun is converted in many ways to fit the need of the individual guardsman. Keeping the fluff of the Imperial Guard and the fluff of my Regiment I want to include shotguns for FREE to my army list. I've been roaming online to convert lasguns into shotguns with the most minimal conversion but that still look good. One that look good was found here:

Hello everyone my name is Victor. I hope everyone will enjoy my new blog. My blog is going to deal mostly with Warhammer 40k and about the Imperial Guard. My army is going to be a little different from the usual Imperial Guard players I hear about. You ask How? Well my Army is based around the famous Elysian Drop Troops. Their army consists of fast and tactical deployment using very little to no heavy choices. Most people believe tanks makes the guard. I believe that Guard can be effective with out tanks or heavy armor. Yes, armor and tanks are effective but I like and some may say it like shooting myself in the foot. I like to do something different then what other players do. So, hopefully those of you who are still reading will enjoy my blog.
